CSAT 2013 Exam | CSAT 2013 Exam Date

CSAT 2013 is expected to be held on 3rd or 4th Sunday of May 2013. UPSC Notification will be published in all major newspapers of India and The Employment News by mid of January. From 2012, UPSC allows online application only and the process is very simple, secure and reliable. The last date for filling the online application for CSAT 2013 is expected to be in early March 2013. Around 2,50000 people are expected to take the test and about 12,000 people will be qualified for the Civil Services (Mains) Exam which is expected to be held by November 2013.
 
Syllabus of CSAT 2013

Paper I - (200 marks) Duration: Two hours - 2 Marks each with negative mark of .33%
  • Current events of national and international importance
  • History of India and Indian National Movement
  • Indian and World Geography - Physical, Social, Economic geography of India and the World.
  • Indian Polity and Governance – Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Rights Issues, etc.
  • Economic and Social Development – Sustainable Development, Poverty, Inclusion, Demographics, Social Sector Initiatives, etc.
  • General issues on Environmental ecology, Bio-diversity and Climate Change - that do not require subject specialization
  • General Science.

Paper II - (200 marks) Duration: Two hours - 2.5 Marks each with negative mark of .33%
  • Comprehension
  • Interpersonal skills including communication skills
  • Logical reasoning and analytical ability
  • Decision making and problem solving
  • General mental ability
  • Basic numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude etc.) (Class X level), Data     interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency etc. - Class X level)
  • English Language Comprehension skills (Class X level).
